The Indiana University School of Social Work (IUSSW) is a university-wide system school with an MSW Program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1923 and a BSW Program accredited since 1975. The IUSSW is headquartered at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and uniquely houses a Department of Labor Studies. The School has programs on campuses across the state of Indiana including Indianapolis, Bloomington, Richmond, Gary, New Albany, Fort Wayne, and South Bend. As the primary provider of Indiana's social work workforce, the School enrolls approximately 1,600 students across programs (PhD, MSW, BSW) and campuses. The Director of Career Services will be responsible for developing, directing, and implementing career development services state-wide for the students and alumni of Indiana University School of Social Work (IUSSW). This role entails forming and maintaining relationships across seven campuses, and working with multiple stakeholders (deans, directors, faculty, staff, employers, and students) to meet the specific needs of each campus. Career development services, including detailed workshops on all relevant licenses for social workers, will be provided to students and alumni at the baccalaureate and master's levels at IUPUI, IU Bloomington, IU East, IU Northwest, IU South Bend, IU Fort Wayne, IU Southeast, and MSW Direct. The Director of Career Services reports directly to the IUSSW Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Master's degree in social work (MSW) with LSW and five years of professional work experience.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Skilled in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of tasks related to career development services. Strong presentation and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Ability to work independently, and strong skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships. Skilled in using computer software and data management programs and basic skills in survey methods.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Ability to remain stationary and work at a computer for extended periods.
