The Medical Transcriptionist Assistant will perform essential support functions for the KCH DanceBlue Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic providers by accompanying the physician and directly observe patient encounters.
This position will be essential to enabling physicians to spend more time performing direct, patient care work as well as increase the overall flow of patients. Duties include performing accurate and timely charting of patient encounters, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, emergency department treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions and prescriptions. Professional, non-intrusive interaction with patients, physicians, hospital staff and other coworkers will be essential for this position. In addition, this position will communicate all lab and x-ray results in a timely manner to the ED physicians, facilitate data flow in the clinic for multiple physicians, enter and retrieve data, perform quality control analysis, and make corrections or updates to patient electronic records as needed. The Medical Transcriptionist Assistant will also provide accurate status and other reports to physicians, staff, and management, as well as understand and adhere to UKHC compliance standards as they appear in UKHC’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of interest Policy.
Knowledge of electronic scheduling/registration/health record. (UKHC systems: APM, AEHR, SCM). Organization, coordination, fast paced environment, assertiveness, clinical knowledge, computer skills, customer service skills, multitasking skills, proficient typing skills.

Required License/Registration/Certification :
High School and 2 years of computer/clerical experience preferred. Pre-med, EMT, paramedics or nursing related courses preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology necessary.
