This position provides operational support to academic program operations, as identified by the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, the Academic Program Directors and other faculty associated with the program. Individuals in this position will have significant engagement with faculty and will not generally engage directly with students. The position will report to the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs. Job duties will include tasks such as revising and sending out surveys, assisting faculty with Teaching Assistant (TA) opportunities, performing admission-related tasks, scheduling faculty attendance at recruitment and orientation events, and scheduling and coordinating exams and dissertation defenses. Other duties include generating reports, managing records related to training grants, and assisting the School Registrar as needed with the university’s required class meeting audit process.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
It is essential that the candidate possess the following: - Ability to develop and oversee processes and operations, as well as identify opportunities for continuous improvement; - Proficiency with student information systems; - Track record of developing good relationships with faculty; - Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve; and - Ability to utilize data and develop and manage reports for use by program faculty.
In addition to the minimum education requirement, the preferred candidate will also possess at least 3-5 years of prior experience in a student services or student affairs role.
