Coordinate the activities of the Visit Program team, under the direction of the Visit Manager.
Activities include front desk operations, management of a fleet of buses, daily campus tours and special events for Undergraduate Admissions.
Will communicate with access groups to provide opportunity in higher education for all students.
Assist manager in training, assessing, coaching, scheduling and supervising the Visit Program team which consists of 70 volunteer tour guides, 3-4 temporary bus drivers and 10-12 student workers.
Assist manager in development of training and programs which promote UNC Charlotte to prospective undergraduate students.
Participate in all required training programs, meetings and professional development programs to remain current apply campus visit best practices.
Partner effectively with internal and external campus partners.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Graduation from a four year college or university and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
BA/BS in education, communications, marketing, psychology or related field.
Preference given to graduates with experience in a university setting in a volunteer and/or paid admissions guide program/campus tour guide.
Demonstrated competencies gained through one year of experience with program coordination or volunteer management including scheduling, training and program development.
Experience supervising others (paid or volunteer) in a professional work environment.
Experience delivering a program or presentation to an audience.
Demonstrated commitment towards teamwork.
Must possess a passion for higher education.
Must possess dedication to providing access and opportunity for first generation students.
Must possess a high level of motivation/initiative.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience providing excellent guest service to internal and external guests.
Employee should be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and some desktop publishing software.
