As part of a dynamic team in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS), the student service specialist is responsible for the creation and execution of GPS driven programming and communications intended to retain and recruit graduate students among affinity groups identified by the dean of graduate and postdoctoral studies. The student services specialist also has primary responsibility for the collection and delivery of routine and non-routine communications and queries between the GPS office and incoming students, current students, and graduate program administrators. The incumbent will facilitate training among the graduate administrators on policies and procedures related to graduate students. The student services specialist also has primary responsibility for managing the Doctoral convocation ceremony and collaborating with other university offices on other graduation events.
