The protocol liaison provides individual assistance to faculty and research staff on all aspects of IACUC protocol submission and maintenance. In addition, this position works closely with veterinarians, ancillary reviewers, and committee members on all aspects of protocol review and approval. As the Protocol Liaison reporting to the IACUC Director, 50% of the work hours will be conducting administrative reviews for all animal experimentation protocols, three-year renewals, and amendments, for determination of compliance with federal regulations, policies, guidelines and accreditation standards regarding animal research activities. Among other administrative duties, this position is also tasked with grant congruency reviews, IACUC member functions, administrative amendment processing, annual renewals, ceded reviews, and MOU coordination.

Bachelor's degree required and background in animal research; or 2-5 years experience as a Coordinator or similar level in IACUC administration.
Familiarity with animal welfare regulations. High level of organization and attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills. Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision within a strong team environment. CPIA certification preferred.
