TheCustodial Services team within the Facilities Group are a key and valued teamwithin Vanderbilt University. Without this team, our University would not lookor feel as it does today. In this role, you will help ensure the campus ispristine and presentable to all students, staff, and visitors. We areconsistently ranked a top beautiful campus in the country.
Plant Operationsprovides facilities support for all construction, renovation, and routinemaintenance of University Central space and facilities; housekeeping servicesfor approximately 5.8 million square feet of academic, administrative,residential, and recreational space; grounds care for 330 acres that are aregistered arboretum; turf care for athletic fields; and utilities for theUniversity Central and the Medical Center.
Facilities' annual budgetexceeds $100 million in operating expenses and includes over 400employees. Facilities manages major capital project expenditures totaling~$125 million annually and facility renewal, replacement and large maintenanceproject expenditures totaling ~$20 million annually.
This is a full-timeopportunity that pays $12.75 per hour for first shift, $13.75 per hour forsecond shift, and $14.00 per hour for third shift. In addition to great pay, we offer great benefits andopportunities to grow.
There are three schedulesavailable.
1st shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday through Friday,rotating weekends)
2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (Monday throughFriday, no weekends)
3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM (Sunday through Thursday)
Perform general cleaning duties; empty trash buckets; dust and polish furniture; wash windows and walls; clean restroom fixtures, sinks and commodes; replenish restroom supplies such as towels, tissues and soap.
Inspect areas for cleanliness, mechanical failures, and other inappropriate conditions.
Report lights out and other mechanical failures
Sweep, mop, wash and vacuum floors. Spray, buff, and burnish tile floors.
Move furniture as necessary for cleaning.
Clean light fixtures.
Pick-up and deliver supplies to various areas at the University.
Perform trash removal functions and recyclables.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Profile of an Ideal Candidate
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous custodial, housemen, groundskeeper, housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.
