JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of anAssistant Director, this position works closely with the Assistant Director andother executive offices to draft, review, and negotiate research contracts andagreements with and without funding. Maintains contract tracking data andfollows up on outstanding agreements to facilitate processing and execution. Trouble-shootsissues in the UT systems, including Cayuse424 and SP, as needed.
Negotiates and/or drafts agreements, including Data UseAgreements (DUAs), Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Material TransferAgreements (MTAs), Industry Sponsored Research Agreements (ISRAs), amendments,and other documents.
Identifies and resolves risks in contractual terms andconditions not conforming to UTHSC policy or governing regulations.
Ensures all aspects of the agreement, including budgets,have been properly reviewed.
Maintains negotiation status updates related tocontract documents and clinicaltrials.gov registrations.
Ensures that any compliance matters related to anagreement are properly documented/negotiated/handled.
Maintains on-going relationships with faculty, departmentalstaff, industry sponsors, academic institutions, vendors, and other entitiesinvolved in agreements underreview.
Provides campus, departmental, and one-on-one trainingrelated to contracts and sponsored programs, including UTHSC policies andprocedures, and basic contractingissues.
Reviews, processes, and implements corrective action inadministrative management of the negotiation process, when necessary, in orderto represent UT and UTHSC effectively.
Works on group and office projects and contributes toprocess improvements, and procedural changes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
