The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director, Student Services . The Assistant Director, Student Services serves as an academic advisor for students; executes career services to include assessments, events, and employer engagement; and facilitates student engagement through oversight of student organizations and development.
Under limited supervision plans, the Assistant Director, Student Services coordinates, and oversees a variety of professional and administrative activities related to the efficient day-to-day operation of the University of Maryland School of Nursing Student Success Center in Baltimore, MD. This position supports the achievement of student educational goals through three main thrusts - by serving as the lead career services administrator for the School of Nursing, by providing academic advising support for undergraduate students, and in advising student organizations.

Provide academic and career advising services to enrolled students.
Interface with faculty and other administrators to troubleshoot individual and collective student issues, and make recommendations for issue resolution.
Advise and support student organizations. Ensure student organizations are in compliance with state and university policies.
Develop and implement career services programming and lead related event planning.
Manage relationships with employer recruitment functions.
Create, implement, and provide oversight of programs and events to foster and provide co-curricular and inter-disciplinary learning, leadership, cultural, and social interaction opportunities for students.
Design and implement data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in any discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of progressive experience working with college students with advising and/or career counseling experience required.
Supervisory: Two (2) years of experience at a leadership level.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Experience and/or knowledge of career counseling, employer relations, human resources preferred.
Experience working with students systems (Banner and DegreeWorks preferred).
Knowledge of career assessment tools.
