University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join Central Administration Support Services (CASS). The selected candidate will coordinate and support daily business operations of administrative units supported by Central Administration Support Services (CASS) to include payroll processing and human resource transactions. Serve as a liaison between administrative units, central Human Resource Services and Financial Services Payroll.

Primary responsibility for one of the following areas of human resource transactions and payroll processing within the administrative units, and secondary support for the other areas:
Applies knowledge of payroll and human resource transactions to administrative unit needs and processes. Manages and attends to confidential matters of employment, credentialing, payroll accounting, and records management processes for each administrative unit.
Applies various procedures, policies, and practices to complete assigned work. Process documents requiring knowledge of relevant USM/UMB and departmental policies and procedures. Analyze data and draw conclusions in order to make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsible for the timely submission and accurate completion of requests. Process biweekly payroll cost center reporting, reconciliation and verification process, including monitoring and prompt resolution of overpayments and collections. Responsible for time and leave reporting activities for CASS administrative units.
Primary liaison for international staff annual Glacier renewal process.
Assist the CASS budget team to ensure proper funding for recruitments. Prepares and assembles statistical data and reports for use in budgetary evaluation, expenditure tracking, and maintains data to coordinate necessary computer files.
Schedule events, appointments, meetings and interviews. Handle procedural and substantive matters and refers to others as appropriate with sensitive matters.
Final approver for electronic timesheets (ETS), payroll processing and reporting. Perform financial reporting and distribution analysis. Gather and interpret data to prepare administrative reports.
Identifies and assists in the development of future business process changes to administrative units.
Researches, analyzes, prepares reports, and resolves special projects, requests, or questions as needed.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, human resources, or related field.*
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience in use and analysis of financial, administrative, or human resources management systems. *Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of financial systems applications and accepted business process and practices.
Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects, as well as conduct research and gather information.
Ability to utilize and manipulative large data sets in order to prepare and assemble data and reports
Ability to communicate and support effective partnerships with operating officials and other employees.
Skill in verbal and written communications and presentations, along with interpersonal skills for supporting conclusions and recommendations made.
Ability to apply deductive reasoning and draw conclusions in order to solve problems and facilitate decision making processes.
Skill in the effective use of relevant computer applications and financial, human resources management systems, such as PeopleSoft.
