Student Health Service - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (19006449)
The Nurse Practitioner position is a full-time, 9-month clinical position serving students seen in the Student Health Service (SHS), part of the integrated Wellness Center. The SHS sees approximately 37,000 patient visits per year.
Under the direction of and in collaboration with a physician, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant serves as a primary health care provider and participates directly in the management of patients in the areas of adult medicine. These areas include general medicine, minor office surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology, and mental health. This position administers, coordinates, and plans therapeutic regimens to promote and maintain health and prevent complications. The incumbent initiates referrals to appropriate resources necessary to provide quality services, interprets findings and laboratory data utilized in differential diagnosis, and documents patient care services in the electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner. The incumbent will also expedite patient to appropriate level of care as necessary and actively participate in continuing education of staff and students as necessary.
Graduate of an accreditated school of nursing, graduate of an approved CRNP or PA program. Current licensure as an RN and a CRNP in the Commonwealth of Pennsyvania including prescriptive authority. Current CPR certification. Experience in college health or ambulatory care highly desirable. Must have current CRNP or PA license with prescriptive authority in the State of PA.
