The Healthy Lifestyle Institute at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Health and Fitness Specialist.
This Health and Fitness Specialist position is for an individual with skills in health and physical activity along with experience in clinical intervention settings and conducting outcome assessments. Experience and/or training in interventions should be related to physical activity and weight control, which may include group exercise such as aerobics, yoga, etc. The Specialist will maintain assessment and intervention records for weight loss and exercise studies/programs. This position will also assist the Fitness Center Manager with programming, floor coverage, personal training and group classes.
The individual should have the following credentials: A minimum of a Master's Degree in exercise science or related discipline, experience conducting graded exercise testing and other physiological assessments, and experience implementing interventions to promote physical activity and weight control. The ability to assist with participant recruitment advantageous. The incumbent must be available to work both mornings and evenings.
MS in Exercise Science or related discipline. ACSM or other appropriate professional certifications preferred.
