The Senior Associate for Institutional Diversity and Equity reports to the Chief Officer for Institutional Diversity and Equity. Under general supervision of the Chief Officer for Institutional Diversity, the Senior Associate is responsible for several equity, diversity, inclusion, and ethics activities in support of the missions of the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity and the University. The essential functions of the Senior Associate position are in the following major areas which include, but may not be limited to:
Assist the Chief Officer in updating the University's Affirmative Action Plan and implementing
Assist the Chief Officer in ADA/504 coordination, as well as Title VI and Title VII coordination.
Collaborate with the Office of Human Resources in overseeing faculty and exempt staff searches.
Serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator in support of the office's and University's Title IX efforts.
Diversity and Inclusion
Assist the Chief Officer in institutional diversity & inclusion efforts.
Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students on institutional diversity and inclusion efforts.
Education, Prevention and Training
Develop and deliver education programs on equity, diversity and
Work with online commercial training
Assist the Ethics Liaison Officer in ensuring the University's compliance with the New Jersey State Ethics Law.
Serve as Alternate Ethics Liaison
May conduct investigations into complaints of discrimination, along with preparing detailed written, confidential investigative
Follow established processes for investigating complaints of discrimination
Other duties may include, but not be limited to:
Serve on various committees, particularly those related to the work of the office.
Prepare office reports, as
May lead and assign work to office staff persons.
Able to work some evenings and weekends, as necessary.

Required Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion that includes AA/EO compliance, with a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and
Knowledge of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations including Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and other state and federal employment discrimination laws.
Experience with collecting, organizing, analyzing, and using affirmative action plan data.
Proven experience in handling assignments and projects to completion in a timely manner.
Technologically proficient, including the use of laptop, I-pad, desktop, and office software and technologies.
Master's or Terminal Degree in related field preferred.
Experience working in higher education strongly
Experience conducting fact-finding investigations into claims of discrimination and handling highly sensitive and confidential
Required Minimum Qualifications
