Position Summary: THIS 2-YEAR CONTRACT POSITION WILL END 08/31/2021. Extension beyond this date is contingent on the projects status.
Under direction of the Director of Financial Services, the Financial Analyst 4 uses advanced professional concepts and organizational objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Contacts are both internal and external to the department at all levels. Specific activities will include work on systemwide initiatives, UCPath, Common Chart of Accounts (CCOA), and the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) system replacement, as they pertain to UC ANR.
This position will promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.

Employment is contingent upon successfully clearing the FBI/DOJ background check both from the Department of Justice and the FBI, prior to the first day of UC Employment.

Applies advanced professional concepts to perform complex technical analysis to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and/or resource allocations.
Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for complex financial plans, including operating forecasts, sources and uses, etc. Examples include generating, modifying, and conceiving of new financial reports, and strategic planning and modeling. Uses advanced understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures to resolve highly complex or difficult assignments.
Performs complex financial research and studies for both internal department and external constituents. Examples include periodic financial reports, contracts, grants, gifts, endowments, or user fees. Analysis could include budgetary analysis, financial analysis, forecasts, projections, staff or faculty salary or FTE analysis, contracts and grants analysis, endowment income, fungibility of funds, working capital, depreciation, new building funds, etc.
