Provide leadership and direction for a team of nine network engineers responsible for maintaining the University's WAN, LAN, and Wireless networks and security devices (firewalls and IDS/IPS)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business information systems or related field. Five to seven years or more of progressively responsible experience in the area of specialization; OR the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Two years supervisory experience overseeing information resources professionals.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's degree, preferably Management, IT, or Computer Science
Cisco Certified (CCENT OR CCNA)
3 years Juniper (JUNOS) experience
Extensive experience in the following areas – enterprise networking equipment, firewalls, load balancers,
gateways, data and voice convergence, video services, and wireless technologies
Experience with DevOps/Network Automation tools including Ansible and Python
10 years network engineering and management experience
Extensive technical knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining large-scale, highly available, Internet facing networks
Extensive experience troubleshooting multi-tier Internet applications platforms, particularly for web applications and streaming
Deep understanding of network protocols and their applications and characteristic behaviors
Experience implementing pragmatic network security and audit
Good understanding of network configuration and troubleshooting on a range of Windows and Linux operating systems
Experience working with application and network layer cryptography and virtualization
Experience managing senior technical resources
