Provides support to the Director of the Slavic Language program and other language staff by updating and ordering course textbooks, administering placement exams, maintaining language program files, and assisting language instructors as needed. Assists the Director of Undergraduate Studies by organizing academic advising events for undergraduate students and providing administrative support for the undergraduate program as-needed. Serves as first point of contact for the department: answers phones, greets walk-in visitors, manages departmental email account, and acts as liaison between office, faculty, students and public. Provides general departmental support to Department Chair, Department Administrator and other members of the department. Pays bills, processes reimbursements, orders supplies, distributes mail, manages departmental website and social media accounts, sends out monthly calendars, helps coordinate events, provides computer assistance when able and serves as liaison to HUIT, assists with on-line course catalog production and classroom scheduling.

College experience. Fluency in English required. Minimum 1 year office experience beyond high school or college.
Knowledge of Russian or another Slavic language and interest in the region helpful, but not required. Knowledge of University and financial systems a plus. Competency using a variety of computer software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, Open Scholar, Google, and willingness to learn new systems. Knowledge of publishing software a plus. Detail oriented and ability to establish priorities. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
