The Department of History at Duquesne University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a research specialty in late Colonial, Revolutionary, or Early National American History.
The McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts has a century-long tradition and a strong vision for its future. Named after Father Henry J. McAnulty, the 9th President of Duquesne, the College is the oldest school at Duquesne University. Our College prepares students for productive and creative lives of service. With 12 academic departments comprising more than 30 undergraduate programs and more than two dozen graduate programs, the College teaches students how to use a liberal arts education to solve today's problems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ability to teach a graduate course in Public History is highly preferred.
The new faculty member will teach specialized graduate classes in Early American History, upper division classes in their areas of expertise, as well as undergraduate surveys in U.S. History before and after 1865 and 20th Century World History.
The teaching load is 3-3 under a nine-monthcontract beginning August 2020.

Graduate Public History course in areas of expertise
Ph.D. in History or a completed Ph.D. is expected by June 2020.
Scholarship in late Colonial, Revolutionary, or Early National period of American History
Teaching experience at the graduate and/or undergraduate level
A research program of demonstrated potential
