The Physician Leader collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and other health care professionals to provide primary care, and clinical services, primarily to students of The Ohio State University's, Joint Commission accredited Student Health Services. He/she provides direct medical care in a primary care setting, including routine and urgent visits by appointment and mass programs; performs procedures and other special tasks, based on skills, interests, and privileging; participates in quality improvement and other administrative activities.
The Physician Leader works in conjunction with the Medical Director to promote a team based approach to the delivery of care with medical providers at all levels, provides leadership to the clinical unit and performs administrative duties which include but are not limited to recruitment, supervision, competency assessment, training, and coordination of staffing assignments; monitors performance and provides feedback on a regular basis, assigns tasks, provides instruction, and monitors completion of assigned work. He/She is expected to set a positive example for others to follow in their clinical expertise, patient satisfaction and medical record keeping responsibilities.

Doctorate or an equivalent combination of education and experience; completion of residency training program in Family Medicine or other field relevant to college health; Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties; current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Ohio; unrestricted DEA registration; must have current BLS-HCW certification upon hire; commitment to working in a multicultural and diverse setting; once hired credentialing through OSU Wexner Medical Center; maintenance of certification is required throughout employment.
Supervisory and administrative experience; experience in ambulatory medicine; proficiency with an electronic health record; proficiency with office-based procedures (wound care, I&D, excision of skin lesions, toenail excision, etc.); proficiency with primary care mental health.
