Assists with the design, selection, development, and management of technology and physical facility systems required for The State of Ohio Leadership Institute (SOLI) and The John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Maintains and oversees computing and communication systems for these organizations and ensures that all technology and physical resources and services are effective to meet business needs, with an emphasis on data security best practices and compliance according to university policy and industry best practices. Participates in the planning effort surrounding information technology infrastructure maintenance, security and changes. Projects taken on by this position are of limited scope and complexity, usually relating to technical problems. Provides education and training as needed regarding safety & security of virtual systems. Provides quality customer support to the faculty, staff, students, and partners of The State of Ohio Leadership Institute and John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Develops regular reports and documentation to show compliance with University and College policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least five years of information technology experience; at least two years of experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP network management, DNS, DHCP, and VPN; working knowledge of and at least one year of experience with University data classifications and security requirements; experience preparing reports for an audit or security review; complex problem solving skills; outstanding customer service to a diverse population; excellent written and verbal communication skills; aptitude for learning and applying new technical skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently; high level of self-initiative and self-motivation.
At least five years in a higher education setting; project management experience; management of a Microsoft Hyper-V environment; experience with Splunk, Data Loss Prevention, Mobile Data Management, Vulnerability Management, and other relevant security tools; candidates with maximum flexibility during evening and weekends in addition to standard workdays highly desired.
Target Salary: $72,000.00 - $74,500.00 Annually
