JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assignedsupervisor, this position provides the day-to-day clerical and administrativesupport for the department. Serves as an integral part of the processingpatient information, maintaining the database of patients, maintaininginventory, and the orientation process for the College of Dentistry.
Creates, updates, and maintains new patient records for orientation in the Pediatrics department.
Answers multi-line telephone and greet patients of the practice.
Schedules, confirms, and follows-up with patients for dental appointments.
Gathers medical history of new patients and reconfirms information for established patients.
Introduces new patients during New Patient Orientation appointments.
Sets up patient files in computer database and updates files, as necessary.
Assists in verifying patients' insurance; creates and submits insurance claims.
Greets visitors/patients and refers them to appropriate person or department.
Orders and maintains necessary supplies.
Attends trainings for Code Blue calls.
Maintains the yearly flow of potential patients to the College.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
