JOB CONNECTOR PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATOR , Office of Government and Community Relations , to partner with the community outreach administrator to establish and manage a new organization--The Job Connector--which will help connect Cambridge residents to the region's innovation economy. Will collaborate with a cross-section of stakeholders to develop and manage partnerships and programs in areas such as job readiness, skill training, career planning, apprenticeships, internships, and employment. Responsibilities include establishing and managing productive working relationships with nonprofit and government partners, public officials, companies, community organizations, members of the MIT community, unions, residents, workforce development organizations, community colleges, and others; developing place-based workforce development strategies; building and managing the budget; identifying resources and funding opportunities; developing grant applications; supporting program logistics and operations on location; developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic plan; developing/tracking program metrics; generating reports; recommending operational changes/enhancements; and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in an education- or workforce development-related field; five years' workforce development and/or community organizing experience; and excellent financial, organizational, customer service, strategic planning, interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to prioritize, track, and implement multiple schedules/projects simultaneously; lead meetings, facilitate productive dialog, and develop shared objectives/goals; successfully execute initiatives through collaborations with multiple stakeholders and complex partnerships; and work independently and as part of a close-knit team in a pressured, fast-moving environment. An understanding of Cambridge or similar urban community and the local workforce development landscape would be beneficial. Knowledge of MIT and the area's tech and biotech industry and the innovation economy a plus. A background in social justice work preferred. Job #17848-8
