This position will write proposals and research papers and design and build combustion experiments and apparatus.
Build a drop tower facility for combustion experiments in microgravity.
Write proposals and research papers.
Design and build a high-pressure combustion apparatus.
Establish a computational framework for numerical simulations of droplet combustion experiments.
Perform other tasks and duties under general supervision using established procedures and innovation.Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Doctorate degree in an applicable field

Preferred Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or other relevant engineering or science disciplines
Demonstrated research experience in at least one of the following topics: combustion experiments, detailed numerical simulations, laser diagnostics
Demonstrated experimental skills in setting up bench-top experiments, especially in combustion experiments
Experience in writing proposals and research papers in peer-reviewed conferences/journals
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work as a member of a team, and lead and organize teams comprised of graduate and undergraduate students
