Department: UNIVERSITY EXTENSION - 027025 Department Description: UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) is the academic division of the university dedicated to workforce and career development. CPE helps professional working adults upskill, reskill and advance their careers. CPE partners with campus schools, colleges and faculty to create global access to the distinctive knowledge and resources of UC Davis, and also works with employers and local experts to develop programs targeted to regional needs for economic development. More than 1,500 professionals teach in a wide array of specialized practice domains, including outstanding faculty from across UC Davis. Last year, CPE recorded nearly 62,000 enrollments in more than 4,200 classes, serving students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Courses are offered onsite and online in a variety of formats, including short courses, conferences, certificate programs and self-supporting master's degrees. Courses are open to the public and offered on a contract basis through partnerships with private companies, government agencies and international peer universities. CPE also manages the university's relationship with Coursera, a leading MOOC platform, and has taught hundreds of thousands of students through this partnership. CPE is completely self-supporting, generating more than $40 million in annual revenue from course fees, public and private contracts and grants. CPE employs over 230 employees (career, academic, contract and limited) and more than 60 student employees.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the HR Supervisor, serve as the lead Recruitment Coordinator for approximately 60+ career, contract, and limited recruitments annually for UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE). Work with hiring authorities in the development of recruitment requests; minimum/preferred qualifications, salary equity reviews, interview questions and work samples. Conduct applicant screening processes for all recruitments. Oversee the coordination of all interview logistics. Work with hiring authority in determining all final disqualifications, draft offer letter and finalize hiring decision and closeout recruitment action. Conduct internal CPE on-boarding/off-boarding of career/limited/contract/academic positions. Provide general guidance and referral to employees in the areas of policy & procedure, benefits, worker's compensation, leave management, employee & labor relations, and performance management. Ergonomic Coordinator conducting workstation ergonomic reviews and recommends changes/adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications: In-depth experience in coordinating recruitment and hiring activities.
Experience working in an HR environment interpreting and applying complex policies, procedures, labor agreements, governmental employment requirements and regulations and related material.
Experience working with human resource sensitive data and to discern level of confidentiality and keep appropriate information confidential.
Analytical, and problem solving skills to research and analyze complex and differing information, identify a problem or area needing improvement, interpret data, and make independent decisions and take appropriate actions.
Customer service and interpersonal skills and experience to interact positively with a diverse customer base, respond to complex customer inquiries, and creatively identify ways to meet customer needs.
Organizational and project management skills to be productive and accurate and to work independently in a fast-paced, high volume, frequently changing, deadline-driven environment.
Experience analyzing key issues and researching, gathering and integrating information regarding employment matters.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting and applying UC policies, procedures and processes pertaining to recruitment, payroll, personnel, contractual liabilities, and general administration.
