The Kinder Institute for Urban Research is a multidisciplinary think-and-do tank housed at Rice University in central Houston, focusing on urban issues in Houston, the American Sun Belt and around the world. Through informed research, data and policy analysis, the Kinder Institute hopes to engage civic and political leaders to implement solutions to critical urban issues.
The senior writer & editor writes and edits research reports, outreach publications, multiple media content, and the Urban Edge Blog. The ideal candidate will have advanced written and verbal communication skills, extensive knowledge of Associated Press (AP) editing, and, the ability to write editorial copy and to provide support for public relations initiatives and objectives. In addition, s/he will have knowledge of multiple media formats and ability to write for different platforms, as well as blog experience.
