Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Web Designer for SAS- Laboratory for Computer Science Research. As a member of the Laboratory for Computer Science Research, this position is part of a team supporting researchers and departmental operations for the computer science department. It is part of a group that develops applications, primarily web-based. This position is part of a team that does a variety of web applications for a computer science department. These include applications for research projects, departmental support, and instructional support. This is a junior position, with limited programming responsibilities. But we are looking for a candidate whose background and abilities indicate that they will be able to become a full developer over time
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Develops and maintains web applications in support of researchers and departmental operations.
Helps implement a web application that combines data from University and departmental databases to track progress in the graduate program.
Minimum Education and Experience:
A minimum of one years designing experience or relevant education.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in web technology
Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies; Linux, Java, PHP, python, virtual machines, container systems, MySQL, Apache.
Experience putting together software components to meet requirements.
