The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Delaware in Kent and Sussex Counties is a year-round membership cooperative providing opportunities for intellectual growth and social-cultural enrichment to more than 950 members age SO+. These programs, primarily located in Dover, Lewes and Ocean View, holds two full semesters and one summer session with more than 300 courses taught annually by more than 100 volunteer instructors. OLLI is a two-book operation that is supported 75% from membership fees and balance from monies budgeted for outreach in Kent and Sussex Counties and endowment income.
Under the general direction of the Manager, the Program Coordinator develops opportunities to expand, diversify and support OLLI program initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for the administration of the OLLI Kirilla Scholarship Fund. The Program Coordinator performs complex administrative tasks, budgeting and supports database functionality while performing involved customer service to OLLI members. The incumbent makes independent decisions and works closely with multiple community organizations and UD departments.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Lewes office for OLLI while supporting the Dover and Ocean View OLLI sites.
Provides leadership and direction to the volunteer membership base.
Evaluates and recommends proposals for selection to the curriculum.
Plans, analyzes, interprets and communicates budget data for a series of financially self-supporting operating budgets and income accounts, in cooperation with the OLLI finance committee.
Provides administrative direction and implementation of a course registration and customer relationship management system.
Develops relevant marketing and communication strategies, including but not limited to three catalogues per year.
Interprets University policies and procedures as needed.
Supervises miscellaneous wage technical and office staff.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in education, business, or related discipline preferred.
Ability to develop and implement program initiatives with volunteers.
Experience working with older adult learners.
Ability to manage databases and project budgets.
Skill in organizing resources and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, problem-solve and work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community.
Ability to interact and communicate well with a diverse constituency.
Intermediate computing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
