The Health Science Lab Manager will oversee day-to-day operations in the Simulation and skills labs. The Health Science Lab Manager will work closely with faculty to support teaching in the health science programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and implementation of simulation. Job duties include, but may not be limited to: maintenance of Simulation Center equipment, run simulations scheduled in coordination with directors and program coordinators. The Health Science Lab Manager performs administrative work. The Health Science Lab Manager is responsible for maintaining the inventory of laboratory equipment, materials and supplies; orders new/replacement materials; maintains/cares for laboratory equipment; and ensures laboratory safety and proper disposal of laboratory wastes in accordance will all applicable laws, guidelines and college policy.
Supervision Received: Reports to the Dean of Health and Human Services
Supervision Exercised: Lab Technicians, Work Study Students.
Develops and conducts simulation training workshops for faculty and staff.
Maintains documentation of equipment warranty and maintenance.
Ensures that all materials needed for instruction have been set up properly.
Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment.
Initiates orders for new/replacement materials; receives/stocks orders; processes receiving/invoicing documentation.
Ensures proper care, organization and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Performs administrative tasks associated with the health science lab activities.
Operates a computer and utilizes word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, and other software programs.
Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas (working knowledge of area, researches new technologies/techniques, products, scientific literature) and certifications.
Interact with campus facilities director and facilities staff to support science department labs.
This position requires a flexible schedule as necessary.
All candidates must have a legal authorization to work in the United States.
Experience in health care simulations.
Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent public relations and customer service skills.
Familiarity and experience working in a diverse environment.
Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
