The Mathematics Department is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, well organized, and creative individual to fill the Event Coordinator position. Candidates should be able to set effective priorities and implement decisions to achieve immediate and long-term goals and meet operational deadlines. This is a non-exempt position, pay grade 36.
Position Summary: Overseeing, coordinating, planning and executing various events hosted by the Mathematics Department, including invited guest speakers for colloquia, seminars, special talks, etc. Responsibilities involve: working closely with hosts and/or organizers regarding travel arrangements, lodging, venues, food, etc.; responsibility for processing participants' travel costs, reimbursements (domestic and foreign) for up to 60 or more participants per event (up to 800 for potential future math contests); handling all events hosted by the Math Department, including but not limited to Barrett Lectures Series, Math Undergraduate Conference, Math Honors Day, etc. This position will also have other administrative duties for the Mathematics Department; will work in conjunction with the accounting and financial reporting, and work with other documents such as ECR, HR paperwork, deposits, procurement purchases, etc. This position also supervises undergraduate student office assistants.
