The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating research and planning activities for a federally funded project entitled 'Preventing HIV/AIDS Building Capacity to Reduce Stigma Among Providers for Pregnant Women in Rural Haiti Prevention Study' (hereafter referred to as the Haiti R21). One of the major objectives of Haiti R21 is to work alongside community based partnering organizations, physicians, matrones, and community members in decreasing stigma the serves as a barrier to primary and secondary HIV prevention among pregnant women.
The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing research and planning activities for the Haiti R21 in Haiti. Within the Haiti R21 senior management team, the Project Manager is responsible for implementation of Haiti R21 project activities, monitoring the progress of these activities, and coordinating the activities of research assistants. The Project Manager must understand the overall Haiti R21 research strategy and timeline and how to reach goals and objectives. The Project Manager will directly supervise members of the Haiti based research team and will liaise with subcontracted partners regarding program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and activity reporting. The Project Manager will serve as the Principal Investigators primary point of contact to ensure that the Haiti R21 is implemented according to plan and timeline and reports are submitted on a regular basis. The Research Project Manager will oversee study implementation and management and directly supervise research staff. S/he will lead weekly team meetings, represent the study to internal and external collaborators, and be responsible for assisting with regular reporting. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, utilize time and resources efficiently, and establish priorities to coordinate and complete competing assignments within established timeframes.
Knowledge and Skills
*Minimum of 1 year of experience in public health or health care administration, including experience with the coordination of multifaceted health services, research, and/or evaluation projects.
*Minimum of 1 year of personnel management experience. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, have exceptional communication and writing skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
*Experience in data analysis and manuscript preparation is helpful.
*Knowledge of MS Word, Power Point, and Excel is essential.
*Cultural sensitivity and comfort interacting with a wide range of social, racial and ethnic populations.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, utilize time and resources efficiently and establish priorities and coordinate and complete competing assignments within established timeframes.
*Experience working with community based health organizations in Haiti
