ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, DAR ANALYTICS
Reporting to the Sr. Assoc. Vice President for Development, the Assistant Director of DAR Analytics implements and fosters an environment for a wide variety of data-oriented projects in support of Boston University's fundraising operations. This individual is responsible for custom reporting, and predictive modeling in support of prospect identification and major gifts solicitation. The Assistant Director of Campaign Analytics also provides comprehensive support for descriptive analytics, serving as a repository for fundraising metrics and synthesizing information for proposals and advancement publications. The Assistant Director will develop new methodologies to gain insight into the University's prospect pool, and engage/maintain a cohort of analysts at peer universities for benchmarking analysis. The Assistant Director will also act as a liaison to other University offices and Institutional Research, to report on relevant statistics for advancement purposes.
Analyze giving data, synthesize into coherent reporting methods, and present to SVP of Development and Alumni Relations. Direct and implement predictive modeling projects to improve fundraising pipeline, prospect identification, and gift officer efficiency.
Act as liaison to analytics units of peer universities. Conduct proactive research and analysis to inform fundraising strategy including descriptive analytics, data mining, benchmarking, surveys, and focus groups. Monitor and share industry best practices and trends related to comprehensive campaigns, development, and alumni relations.
Evaluate performance, trends, and opportunities within specific constituencies, segments, projects, and programs. Make actionable and evidence based recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, units, and project managers.
Create data visualizations and custom reports/applications for advancement office in support of major and principal gifts staff. Provide analytical counsel and training to a variety of end users, technical staff, and DAR colleagues.
Must have a Bachelors degree, (with Masters preferred), and 3-5 years experience in analytics, CRM development, alumni relations and/or higher education.
Must be self-directed and an analytical, creative and strategic thinker.
Must have the ability to synthesize and analyze data and to present cohesive reports for trustees, the president, divisional leadership, deans and staff.
Must understand the university's goals and objectives for the campaign and the divisions activities and strategy.
Ability to conduct and lead projects in predictive analytics, modeling, regression analysis.
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access is required. Experience with SPSS and R required. Experience with Tableau software preferred. Extensive experience within a Blackbaud eCRM database is required.
