Program Administrator - Office of the Provost - (19001679)
This comprehensive leadership development program is intended to be provided for a cohort of up to 50 scholars each year, and includes identifying appropriate internal and external presenters, designing three in-person retreat weekends, and creating a lecture series during the summer and academic year. This is a new position, supported by grant funding, and situated within Tufts' Provosts Office, under the supervision of the Associate Vice Provost. 50% of the position will support Provost office initiatives including the establishment of a faculty awards system that will facilitate Tufts faculty receiving prestigious awards
The Program Administrator will design, develop and deliver the Laidlaw Leadership Program including development of curriculum and teaching in the program. Program administrator will be expected to facilitate, design, deliver and evaluate various activities within the Laidlaw Scholars program. This is a limited term position until December 2021, contingent of grant renewal.
The Program Administrator will participate in development of goals and strategies; create data management and filing systems; develop, analyze and monitor budgets, grants and contracts; and participate in development and implements marketing and advertising efforts including writing content for website and social media material. May design and represent program externally at conferences, meetings and events. The person conducts research and drafts reports and results. May oversee recruitment and management of study subjects. May provide advice and counseling to students. This person will coordinates hiring and training of staff, students and temporary help.
Basic Requirements: * Master's degree and 1-2 years related experience or Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrable excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills o Must be detail-oriented and deadline driven o Possess maturity in judgement and proven track record in handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality o Strong research skills and the ability to independently seek out, compile, evaluate and verify information * Must possess the ability to manage multiple, competing assignments and priorities with minimal supervision * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization * Establish and maintain effective working team relationships * Engage in proactive problem solving and critical thinking/analysis * Prepare clear and effective communications for individuals at all levels within the university
