The Employee Relations Assistant is a growth opportunity to gain experience in, and exposure to, the field of employee relations. This position will:
The Employee Relations Assistant will provide a broad-range of administrative and technical support to the Employee Relations team; and ensuring the confidentiality, efficiency and accuracy of employee and departmental information;
The position will serve as the initial point of contact, performing case intakes with all levels of employees in a diverse academic environment;
The incumbent will also compose and prepare correspondence, maintain calendars for the Employee Relations team, coordinate meetings, maintain files/records, and follow up on inquiries:
The position will create and maintain spreadsheets, databases and reports, as well as prepare and deliver various types of presentations; and
Dependent on experience, the incumbent may be involved with the delivery of conflict resolution and coaching efforts; as well as consulting on disciplinary, performance evaluation, and grievance processes.
The successful candidate must be an independent, assertive self-starter and have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality customer service;
Candidates must be able to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, remain calm even in an emotionally charged environment, and handle sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner; and
Experience with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Bachelor’s degree; and
Experience working in an employee relations or human resources environment is further preferred.
