East Ann Arbor Ambulatory Psychiatry-Outpatient facility is dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults, adolescents and children. We are actively seeking someone who exhibits compassion, enthusiasm, and is a patient-oriented individual who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees. This person will work primarily in the call center.
Schedule new and return patient visits determining appropriate clinic provider based on specific standards for 20+ speciality clinics within Ambulatory Psychiatry.
The Call Center Rep(CCR) will conduct a standardized telephone screening for those seeking care within the clinic. Using established criteria, the CCR then schedules the patient for a complete clincial assessment. Provides customer service and follows standard business processes related to appointment scheduling, prescription refill requests, and clinical phone notes. This position involves handling both routine and complex customer concerns.
Demonstrates customer excellence in answering incoming phone calls and retrieval of voicemail messages. Schedule patient appointments in a timely and accurate manner, and informs patients of any necessary preperations in accordance with established guidelines. Gathers and verifies patient demographics, insurance, authorizations and completes routine referrals.
High School diploma or GED
Proficient computer, microsoft office and desktop software with accurate typing skills
1 to 2 years experience including customer service
Candidate must adhere to a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrate an ability to interact with diverse population
Candidate must be able to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team, handling multiple responsibilities in a fast paced environment
Candidate must have excellent attendance
Candidate must demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision as well as with a team
Ability to sit for extended periods of time as this is a sedentary position
Demonstrate active listening, phone, written, verbal and information technology skills
Basic customer service skills that require proper telephone technique, basic typing, computer and data entry skills.
Experience with MiChart-EpicCare systems and/or an electronic medical record system
Experience working within a large complex healthcare and ambulatory setting
Minimum of 1 year or more of office, call center and customer service experience
Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and procedures
This is a full time position; 40 hours/week Monday thru Friday, shift hours are from 7:30am – 7:00pm. Shift hours rotate and could potentially change based on the operational needs of the clinic and required meetings.
