ECTC is seeking an Academic Advisor to assist the Dual Credit Team with academic advising, registration, enrollment, and recruitment for dual credit and SEEK students.
This position will require traveling to area high schools and completing regular standing appointment with students.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Provides admissions counseling for prospective and current dual credit students for area high schools.
Assists in providing academic, career and college adjustment counseling to currently enrolled dual credit students.
Advises new dual credit students of academic process and generalized direction to enhance academic success.
Conducts dual credit enrollment and orientation events at partner high schools to provide information and register new and returning dual credit students.
Contributes to the achievement of the College's recruitment and retention goals by providing information to the high school students, parents, teachers, administrators, and district officials by representing the College at programs for the high school market and encouraging dual credit students to consider attending ECTC upon graduation.
Works cooperatively with the Registrar and Admissions staff to ensure that special registration assistance is provided for dual credit students, including visits to area high schools in a timely manner to collect admission a registration materials to meet specified registration deadlines.
Assists in achieving the College's outreach goals by working with staff cooperatively with staff from various campus and off-campus organizational units, especially area schools and school districts.
Communicates with high school counselors and students to resolve issues and obtain missing student information required for enrollment in dual credit courses.
Assists in enrollment of dual credit students taking courses offered in the high school setting and registering new and returning dual credit students and prints schedules.
Adjusts tuition charges to reflect discounted dual credit tuition rate and applies dual credit scholarships to eligible courses.
Conduct regular standing appointments at area high schools as needed.
Assists students and high school counselors with the SEEK application and enrollment processes.
Education: Bachelor's degree (Education with focus on Counseling or Student Affairs, or related field), and two years related experience, or equivalent.
