Position Summary: Effectively plans and executes complex projects and programs that implement the Director's vision for advancing the department's crisis and consequence management and technical environmental services program operations.
May represent Crisis and Emergency Management at meetings and conferences involving academic compliance committees, campus, system wide, local government, state and federal levels of authority in matters related to field of expertise. Decision-making is based on established procedures and integration / interpretation of relevant laws, regulations and organizational policy; professional best practices; relevant science methodology, impact on other EH&S programs; and senior management approvals. Decisions may impact other EH&S programs, departments, segments of the organization and / or organization-wide.

Conducts environmental due diligence background research including regulatory agency records reviews, natural hazards, environmental site characteristics and setting, and historical site use on physical properties. Assist in producing Phase 1 Preliminary Site Assessment due diligence reports and supporting documentation in accordance with the Director's standards, which exceed conformance with applicable ASTM practice. Review consultant due diligence reports and various property-related reports. Requires occasional travel.
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training of at least 5 years in this field or a closely related field.
Advanced knowledge in the following areas: emergency management; physical environmental hazards; knowledge of common organization-specific computer application programs; knowledge of organizational processes and procedures; understanding of organizational rules and regulations.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills, including advanced political acumen and skill to effectively communicate with diverse constituencies in a highly political environment. Requires service-oriented, active listening and critical thinking skills. Requires ability to present complex risk findings and make recommendations in a clear concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Advanced skill to effectively represent the organization to state and federal authorities, and community groups.
Advanced analytical and organizational skills to organize, prioritize and manage the successful completion of projects within budget and time constraints. Required
Master's degree in related environmental field preferred.
Professional Certification preferred.
Advanced or expert knowledge and skill in applying and interpreting applicable local, state, and federal regulations and related standards, guidelines and, as appropriate, recommend organization policy.
Advanced skill in mentoring or overseeing the work of other EH&S technical and professional staff.
Advanced skill to appropriately use technology and relevant scientific equipment as required. Preferred
