The Director of CLOE (Center for Leadership and Organizational Excellence) is a senior leadership position reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources and is responsible for conducting assessments of organizational needs and development, measuring outcomes of training and development, implementing and evaluating programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of the University’s EHRA Faculty, EHRA Non-Faculty, and SHRA employees in support of the overall mission of the University and its operating goals and objectives. This position does this through an understanding of the University’s key business drivers and function as business partners with leadership. Incumbent will also need to partner with the senior leadership team within the Division of Human Resources to ensure a quality adult learning experience in all aspects of leadership development and training of University faculty and staff.
The Director will have continuing involvement in formulating, interpreting, and implementing institutional policies. They will need to exercise substantial independence of administrative authority and discretion in the areas such as needs assessment, leadership development, training and educational program planning design, resource allocation, and evaluation of programs’ success and outcomes to assure best practices are incorporated. Also, they will support Banner HR, and Payroll implementation.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The purpose of CLOE is to provide leadership for key employees; develop, educate, and lead key development initiatives such as Supervisor and Management Development program, the Chancellor’s Service Culture Initiative, and the On-Boarding at NC A&T University employees.
The goals of CLOE includes:
1) analyzing the alignment of the University’s mission and vision statement with imperative organizational, performance and expectation goals;
2) generating interest in the center’s purpose, potential, and the impact it can have for the University’s community; and
3) identifying and developing collaborations and coalitions across campus and in the Triad area to support and foster the capabilities of the University workforce.

Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, Communication or related field and/or Human Resources professional certifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Master’s Degree in Development/Adult Education. -Ability to organize, set priorities, execute a plan of action, and evaluate work. -Knowledge of techniques and methods of conducting formal and informal training programs and theory, practices and principles of human behavior to adapt training to audience. -Knowledge of current software and theories related to adult learning and workplace development. -Excellent communication, presentation, analytical skills.
