USC's Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy has a strong reputation for excellence in physical therapy education. We invite applicants for a full-time, open rank, teaching faculty position to join our hybrid entry level DPT@USC program.
The primary responsibilities will include teaching and creating teaching modules designed for the online entry level DPT program.Â The faculty will teach in live, interactive web-based sessions with supporting access to the course syllabus, written texts and other supportive course materials. Course facilitation and availability to students for web-based office appointments are essential. There will be opportunities to teach in the on-campus program as well. All full-time faculty at USC are expected to contribute to scholarship through publications, presentations, and other modes of dissemination.
Qualifications required is a DPT degree and at least one year of clinical experience in physical therapy. Minimal requirements are clinical specialization, prior teaching experience and evidence of a scholarly agenda. Board certification specialists are preferred.
Preferred applicants will be comfortable using social media, computer-assisted learning applications, or have previous experience using technology to support teaching.Â This position is not restricted geographically and can be filled by any candidate with broadband internet access.
Initial appointments are made for oneyear, with annual performance review, followed by continuing appointments subject to school and university policies.Â Salary and rank will be based on qualifications and experience. Faculty are appointed at the instructor, assistant professor, associate professor and full professor ranks, with opportunities for promotion and other forms of School and University recognition.
Some travel is required for all full-time USC@DPT faculty during the academic year, including initial orientation and annual faculty retreats in Los Angeles.
