The primary mission of the Economics Department is to contribute to Bridgewater State University's liberal arts and business education. We educate our students through excellence in teaching, mentoring and advising, promoting undergraduate research, and emphasizing the importance of critical thinking. We promote faculty learning and scholarship, and encourage our students and faculty to contribute to the broader community.
The Department of Economics at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified and committed Part Time Faculty for the 2019/2020 academic year, who are enthusiastic teachers and dedicated to working with undergraduates.
Applicants are sought to teach a range of core courses in the undergraduate major: Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Statistics for Economics/Business.
Applicants should possess: - Ability to effectively teach in a close, collegial environment dedicated to the teaching-learning relationship. - Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity. - Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning. - Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading. - Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the department office as requested. - Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Courses may be offered on the main campus in Bridgewater or at satellite campuses in Attleboro and on Cape Cod.
Masters degree in Economics.
PhD in Economics preferred.
Teaching experience preferred.
