The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Chinese to begin in August 2020. Candidates must have native or near native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, a Ph.D. in applied or theoretical linguistics, language pedagogy, or a related field, and U.S.-based teaching experience in Chinese language at the college level.
This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a full-salary one-semester research leave prior to tenure review, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. Tenure-track faculty are eligible for travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College's published policies. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching at the introductory and advanced levels to students in the United States as well as scholarly achievement. Ph.D. required.
