Advertised Job Summary:
Executes development and coordination of capital projects with emphasis on the system campuses throughout the state of South Carolina. Projects range from small renovations to large complex renovations or new construction. Working with external architects, engineers, other consultants, and contractors, responsibilities will include coordination of planning, design, bidding, on-site construction administration and close-out procedures. Manage schedules, feasibility studies, cost estimation and value engineering for capital and occasional maintenance projects. Monitor and control contractual commitments to assure performance of work including, but not limited to, compliance with drawings and specifications. Coordinate with the Office of the State Engineer and other state and local authorities as required.
Assist with the planning and prioritization of projects that are in accordance with campus strategies and master plans for maintenance and growth. Conduct and/or coordinate facility condition assessments to inform decisions about capital projects and maintenance work. Assist the University Architect with the annual Comprehensive Permanent Improvement Plan which documents future projects on the system campuses.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management and 6 years related experience in planning, design and construction.
