1. Serves as an active member of the Library's senior leadership team. Provides vision, leadership, and direct administrative oversight of the administrative department. Supports other Law Library department heads through administration of Law Library budget, human resources, professional development and other administrative responsibilities. 2. Manages staff including hiring, setting priorities, and staff development. 3. Prioritizes and leads multiple projects while meeting deadlines and budget targets. Ensures overall effectiveness of Law Library services and strengthens the impact of the Law Library on the Law School's academic mission. Engages with faculty and students in support of the University's teaching and research mission. 4. Contributes at the national level, recognizes library trends and opportunities, and uses this knowledge to enrich local programs and strategic planning. Represents YUL at local, regional, national and international levels. 5. Chairs library committees as necessary. Partakes in the planning and implementation of changes in Law Library operations and ensures procedures are followed that promote smooth, effective and efficient operation of Law Library departments. 6. Collaborates with other librarians and libraries at Yale. Works independently with varied user groups in a complex organization and functions collaboratively in a team environment. 7. Participates in University-wide initiatives. Serves as a sponsor for labor management programs. 8. Builds strong partnerships with faculty and students, curators and librarians, and donors. 9. May be required to assist with disaster recovery efforts. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
