Reporting to the Director of Summer Session, the Office Coordinator is responsible for front office operations and provides general administrative support for Summer Session as well as manages a team of student workers. The incumbent will provide a wide variety of customer service, general advising, problem-solving, research, and operational support. Although the primary clientele of this position is students, there will be interaction with faculty and staff from across campus in addition to other institutions both domestic and international, as well as parents and other members of the public.
The dual mission of the Summer Session office is to support current students in timely graduation while simultaneously opening UC Santa Cruz enrollment to our entire community. Our broad summer curriculum is designed for UC Santa Cruz students to continue making degree progress. We also welcome high schoolers and visitors from other colleges to our world-class research university. In addition to Summer Session, our office coordinates the Summer Academies exclusively for incoming students. The Academies allow students to earn units towards graduation while building community and confidence on campus as they transition into university life.

Bachelor's degree in related area or combination of equivalent experience / training.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
