The Career Center supports students as they explore their career planning options and partners with them to land meaningful internships and post-graduation opportunities. The Career Center is comprised of several key teams:
The Career Development team provides both one on one career advising and group coaching to support graduate and undergraduate through all stages of the career planning process
The Employer Relations team works to increase the number of internship and full-time employment opportunities for Washington University students to build positive relationships with current and prospective employers, and to help match students with internship and post-graduation opportunities
The Communications and Events team educates students, alumni, employers and other stakeholders about the Career Center’s services and resources through strategic marketing and career-related programming
The Career Consultants help to ensure the success of every WashU student by providing excellent and attentive career coaching/advising, using a number of approaches including 1:1 appointments, developing and delivering workshops, and planning other related programs.
A Career Consultant will provide both individual and group career advising to undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni. The successful candidate will primarily advise students interested in exploring and seeking business careers (finance, banking, consulting, etc.), while also demonstrating flexibility to advise students who have other interests.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing guidance on career exploration, job and internship searches, networking, interviewing, resume and cover letter development, and interest in further education programs.
Follow-up with students.
Special project work such as development of workshops for students or serving as a panelist during a group advising event.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is part-time and works approximately 10-15 hours per week during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. during the academic year (August through May). Actual hours and days are scheduled based on the needs of our students and the availability of each of our Career Consultants. Attendance at monthly team meetings as well as orientation/training is required.

Bachelor's degree in related area with at least five years of related professional experience.
Master's degree in related area with experience working in multiple high performing Fortune 500 organizations in middle or senior management.

The hiring range for this position is $24.66 - $32.06 per hour.
