The Clinical Assistant Professor is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities for clinical education and service. Clinical faculty may participate in research or other scholarly or creative activities.
Description of Primary Duties:
The successful candidate will primarily teach graduate-level courses in Health Administration. Secondary teaching assignments may be at the undergraduate- or graduate-level in Business Communication, Organizational Behavior, International Management, Human Resources, and/or Strategic Management. Candidates will assist with the administration of the Masters in Health Administration program and engage with alumni and professional organizations. University service will also be expected. The normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
The minimum acceptable qualifications for the Clinical Assistant Professor rank are determined by the department and approved by the Dean and the Provost. Clinical Faculty must be qualified as defined by professional/discipline standards, have practical experience appropriate for the responsibilities assigned, and must maintain appropriate professional credentials. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate in Health Administration, Management, or Business Administration. Candidates with a terminal degree in a related field, such as a Juris Doctorate, will be considered if accompanied by an MHA or MBA degree. A minimum of 3 to 5 years Managerial/Professional experience in the U.S. Healthcare industry. Five or more years of experience teaching at the undergraduate- and graduate-levels and in different modalities (i.e., seated, online). Candidates must demonstrate experience with and/or a commitment to working in diverse environments and/or with students from diverse backgrounds.
