Staff Psychologist/Staff Counselor-10 Month Position
Reports to the Director of Counseling
SECTION I: SCOPE
Responsibilities include individual and group psychotherapy,conducting assessments, crisis intervention. Participation in outreach psycho-educational programs and Resident Assistant Training.
Provide individual and group counseling.
Facilitate, participate in, and market psycho-educational outreach programs.
Work collaboratively with other departments.
Conduct intakes, and provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for student psychological concerns.
Provide crisis intervention, including suicide risk evaluations.
Provide referrals to and collaborate with Psychiatrists and mental health professionals.
Develop and keep accurate psychological client records.
Basic knowledge of computers and ability to work with office technology
Other assignments as designated by the Director of Counseling.
Supervises: Student Workers, Graduate Students
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Counseling or Social Work. NYS Licensure is required. Please submit a cover letter with your resume.
Physical Requirements: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
