The Cisco Voice Engineer will be responsible for:
Ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of Children's Hospital's IP telephony communication systems in a seven by twenty four clinical environment.
Assuming primary support responsibility for Cisco IP telephony systems at the hospital. Working as a member of the Voice Services group to develop cost effective communication solutions based on the requirements of the hospital community.
Coordinating the acquisition, installation, and configuration of IP communication systems including hardware and software, and performing systems upgrades as required.
Provisioning and monitoring connectivity with external service providers and other hospital systems.
Interfacing with CH users and vendors to determine system needs and resolve service issues.
Providing competent and timely end user support for IP telephony related problems
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field and three to four years' experience.
The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs that cross department and or divisional lines.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Technical skills for Cisco Unified Communications equipment including Cisco Unified Communications Managers, Cisco Unity Connection, CCX, CER, VCS and Voice Gateways.
Knowledge of MGCP and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)
