Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Post Doc Fellow for the Cancer Pharmacology Department at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to conduct research investigation into the characterization of oncogenic and tumor suppressor enhancer regions, as well as on the dissection of the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics in T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) using mouse models under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. The Post Doc Fellow will perform research, experiments, and laboratory techniques of a specialized nature under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts research experiments to understand the role and mechanisms of SOD1 in oxidative stress resistance and cancer cell survival as well as the interplay between metabolism and redox regulation to unveil new therapeutic strategies.
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a relevant science
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with FACS analyses or the ability to effectively learn this technique will be needed.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Background in cancer biology research.
