The Myron E. Ullman, Jr. School of Design prepares its students to be skilled professionals who can work in local and global markets and who respect the diversity of the human community. The School of Design is innovative in teaching and in transforming the design disciplines by infusing learning with the newest design thinking methods and technologies. Through inspired interdisciplinary projects and solid corporate partnerships, the School of Design is devoted to furthering its role as a leading design institution. Our students are prepared for careers in fashion, communication design, and industrial design by a passionate faculty, rigorous academic endeavors, and a world-class professional practice (co-op) program.
Design Foundations: Design Foundations is a one semester immersion in the processes, languages and practices of design for students majoring in fashion design, communication design or industrial design. An adjunct instructor teaching in design foundations might teach studio courses in drawing, two dimensional design, three dimensional design, and/or media/technology. Additionally, an adjunct instructor might teach lecture courses on art and design history.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A design-related terminal master's degree from an accredited institution. Candidates with prior teaching experience are preferred.
Adjuncts teaching in Design Foundations will work directly with Samantha Krukowski, Academic Coordinator for Foundations in the School of Design.
