The Contracts & Finance Assistant will work closely with the Director of Purchasing in the overseeing of public bids, contract reviews and grant submissions. This position will include being the Assistant MWBE/SDVOB Coordinator for the campus and have regular interaction via phone and email with state officials in Albany. This position will be expected to attend semi-annual purchasing conferences within NY State. It is expected that the person in this position will act as backup to the Director of Purchasing in contract related matters and legal counsel consultations.
The candidate will possess a bachelor's degree preferably in business or finance, or a related field; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; good business acumen; and the ability to work in a team environment. The candidate will preferably have 1 to 2 years of experience working in a business environment. Experience with contract reviews and public bids is also preferred.
