Functions as a Biomedical Informatics Specialist in the Biomedical Informatics Department; designs and supports complex development of scientific data query mechanisms, algorithms and integration of scientific data for basic and clinical research studies; identifies and resolves data related issues; works with a team of scientific informatics staff to design and implement integrated application software and databases; interacts with biomedical researchers, providing technical expertise and developing successful solutions to meet their requirements.
Bachelors degree in biomedical informatics, computer and information science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; computer operations experience required; experience in SQL, XML/XSLT, database design and data integration, and database development (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) required; data warehouse experience desired; experience in a research environment desired; experience utilizing EHR/EMR data for secondary use purposes desired; certification/proficiency in EPIC Clarity data model desired; SAS base and advanced programmer certification desired; requires successful completion of a background check; candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
